Luding Bridge

There were some yada-yada-yada about Mao Zedong crossing the Dadu River at this point to flee from his pursuers. And him taking refuge in a nearby Catholic Church.

Luding Bridge

You need a ticket to cross this bridge. The water below weren't exactly rapid in nature but I couldn't help imagining Indiana Jones hanging precariously on the ropes of the broken bridge. I hastened across the bridge because lunch was on the other side. Youths stopping at the middle section of the bridge taking selfies and groupies got nothing less than a disapproving frown  from me.

Lunch was a huge disappointment consisting of mainly innards and odorous looking dishes.
