The Guava Sore

Yes, I called it the Guava Sore.  That's because I was munching on a whole guava when it happened.  This isn't the first time it happened nor would it be the last.

No, the honey didn't work.  This must be one hard core sore!  I've gargled with Biotene, Listerine and brine but none of them worked.  So its off to the Chinese Medical Shop for a solution.

The man at the medical shop said Internal Heat made the inner walls swell.  When they do, they get in the way and ended up bruised.  I was asked to pump some minty powder onto the sore. The powder had a numbing effect.  Makes you wonder what's inside.

Under normal circumstances, I usually ignore such sores and let them heal in their own good time. Not now though.  I'm due for the third chemo next week and I do want to get my house in order before I do.

I took another look at the bottle of Biotene this morning.  It says gargle for 30 seconds. 30 seconds!  That's awful long.  I can't gargle for 30 seconds and I've tried.  Its 10 seconds before I go - bluaargghh!  Perhaps some basic training then.  I'll start with 10 and slowly progress to 30.

  1. So sorry to read about your mouth sore. Another effective and natural source is pure coconut oil. Its call oil pulling. Do it first thing in the morning or/and at night before bed. 2 tablespoon and make the action of gargle and squishing them in between your teeth, top and bottom and swirl it in your mouth for approx. 3 to 5 minutes. Do not swallow the rinse. Spit it out and rinse your mouth. The coconut oil would have turned whitish.

I had a bad sore sometime ago. It went off after 3 days doing this pure coconut oil pulling. In fact, I'm supposed to be doing this on a daily basis. Need to get back to this routine again.

You could confirm with Uncle Google.

    All the best to you..♥

    1. Coconut oil pulling? I have never heard of this. Where did you get the coconut oil? Is it even on the shelves at the supermarket?

BTW Welcome back! How was the trip?

    2. Thanks.. the trip was good, I wanted to say 'eye-popping' but okay.. eye-opener (staying with my current level of activity).. was interesting.. met some very interesting people there.. but the total flight together with transit time is a killer.. some genius better start cracking at inventing the teleportation machine.

Here are are 2 sites that you can read up on regarding Oil Pulling (its actually an ancient Indian health art form)..

I think the 'qui-loh' method of extracting the oil is by cold press ie, it is transparent and freezes white. The other method is by heat. I get my supply from a local lady who home-made it. It is light brown in colour and has a very nice aroma.

I have an extra bottle if you urgently need it. I'm checking on her website address and will post it here if you want to get it direct from her.

A Note from .. (I'd like to call it ♥ to ♥) nature provides, and as in everything, a degree of 'faith' from the mind and body to allow healing is the true cure .. yes.. its scientifically proven if you want proof (is that the right spell??) just verse it with placebo effect.. the mind can be a tricky nut head to crack.. or to trick.. depending..

Argghh.. I'm still adjusting to the time lag.. have a good week..

    3. Intriguing

Thanks but no. My sore is gone. The minty powder must have done it.

I always believed that the biggest fool in the world is ourselves. If we can fool ourselves, we can fool anyone. ;)

You have a good week too.
